: 就職・転職戦略 - インタビュー後のフォローアップ
インタビュー後、やるだけのことはやったと思うのはまだ時期尚早です。フォローアップの戦略を練り、それを実行することによって、インタビューの効果を最大限にあげることができるのです。インタビューを通じて、ポジションの詳細内容・採用担当者の人柄及び経営スタイル・部署の内部構成及び社内での位置付け・部署戦略・部署の強味あるいは抱える問題など、あげたらきりがないほどの情報が得られたはずです。(もちろん、あなたがインタビュー時に積極的に質問をした場合の話ですが。)これらの情報をうまく利用し、インタビューに対するお礼のレターを24時間以内に書くよう心掛けましょう。
レターではお礼の他に、あなたが特にアピールしたい点を強調し、あなたがそのポジションにふさわしい候補者であること、そのポジションにどうしてもつきたいことなどを率直に書きましょう。インタビューを通じてその企業に関する情報を仕入れることに成功していれば、レターの内容も自然と説得力のあるものになるはずです。1週間後に状況確認の電話を入れる旨でレターを締めくくります。これで採用担当者にあなたの情熱が伝わるはずです。
ここで、私が過去実際に書いたフォローアップ・レターをサンプルとしてあげておきます。
It was very nice meeting with you, and thank you very
much for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with me.
I would like to express that I am very interested in working for
your organization as a result of my meetings with you and your colleagues.
XXX Corporation is going through the post-IPO blues, much worsened
by recent market conditions. Although we cannot do much about day
traders, I believe XXX's imminent task is to increase interest among
long-term investors, whose investment philosophies match with XXX's
strategy going forward.
There are at least 2,000 institutional investors in the U.S. alone
with more than $100 millions in equity assets. Fine targeting is
crucial to make your investor relations efforts successful. Furthermore,
there are so many public companies, not only U.S., but also foreign
companies are competing to get these investors' attention. Under
this highly competitive environment, if I were given the opportunity
to join your organization, my initial priorities will be as follows:
- Conduct due diligence including Perception/Peer Analysis among
buy-side institutions.
- Refine the corporate investment message, if necessary, based
on the above study to differentiate Onvia.com from other business-to-business
e-commerce companies.
- Make sure that XXX's strategies and visions are accurately
reflected in broker reports.
- Identify potential shareholders, whose investment philosophies
are desirable for XXX.
- Execute a series of communication programs targeting these
potential shareholders, while continuing efforts to increase
sell-side coverage.
I worked with ABC Corporation for a few years starting in 1995 when
they initiated their investor relations efforts. While I am tracking
