a bit, but it rains a lot in winter. Well, I'm just telling
people it rains all the time, so they won't move to Seattle and overpopulate
the area! |

冗談だろう。夏はとてもいいって聞いたよ。 |

ちょっと大げさかもしれないけど、冬はよく雨が降るのよ。ただいつも
雨が降るのよって言っておけば、シアトルに引っ越す人がいなくなって 人口過密にならないかと思って。 |
| "exaggerate"は大げさに言う、誇張する、などの意味を持つ動詞。
"overpopulate"は人口過剰にする、という意味の他動詞。"overcrowd"も同様の意味があります。"overpopulated
city" 、"overcrowded city"で『過密都市』という意味にもなります。 |
