Why is Junglecity so unique?
There are very few sites as unique as Junglecity. It is an award-winning Japanese site about, to the Japanese, a foreign place. This is an invaluable resource to the Japanese-speaking community both locally and abroad. The Japanese more than any other Asian population have difficulty with the English language, so having a comprehensive site in their native language is extremely important.

Wouldn't those Japanese people traveling to the US do their research in English anyway?
Given that less than 20% of Japanese are considered to have strong English language skills, most, even those traveling to English-speaking countries, prefer navigating the Internet in Japanese. Making hotel or restaurant reservations, for example, is much more comfortably done in Japanese. Also when there's an opportunity to get opinions about places to eat, stay, and visit, Junglecity users take comfort in knowing the information comes from fellow Japanese. Our bulletin boards are lively with travelers and locals using them everyday to exchange information and make contacts with each other.

Are there plans to create an English version of Junglecity?
Our mission is to provide information that is useful specifically to Japanese locals and travelers to Seattle and Washington State. Given the differences in culture and values, much of what Junglecity produces would be undervalued by the English-speaking audience.
Our reviews on shops and restaurants would be good examples of writing articles for audience who grew up in Japan. We focus on "how" the Japanese care about their shopping and dining experience through a different point of view than non-Japanese and also try to answer typical questions that Japanese would ask. Therefore, we choose to maintain our focus on providing the Japanese population current information, which they would appreciate.
